America, America!

I'm back to the US, I just got in about a day and a half ago. Things are a little crazy and I'm currently in the adjustment/getting settled phase. Basically, I'm running around everyday like a chicken with it's head cut off. ^-^ I will resume posting regularly ASAP! A lot of my clothes are still in route to the US, I ended up paying $80 for shipping to get about half of my wardrobe to the US. But I didn't want to live out of two suitcases until the rest of my stuff gets moved back over!

So as soon as I have choices and have re-acclimated myself with being here (can we say culture-shock?!) I'll be back with plenty of cute outfits! Also, I bought two sets of ears right before I moved! More on that in a few days!

Autumn Abyss

White Long Sleeve - Forever 21
Destroyed Denim Shorts - Hollister
Knit Stockings - Tutuanna
Long Black Socks - Tutuanna
Black Wedges - Paseos
Black Plaid Scarf - Paseos

Layering long socks over knitted stockings is really popular right now. I really like the look too, it's a little more visually interesting than just wearing long socks. However, I think it has to be worn with an outfit that is a little more subdued. If your outfit is supposed to be the main attraction, adding a lot of extra leg wear details might be a bit much. And I'm not angry in my pictures. The sun was right in my face! I did the best I could not to make the scrunched up sun face. ^-^

Cleaning Out My Closet

Pink Feather Dress - Forever 21
Gold Buckle Belt - Forever 21
Long Black Socks - Tutuanna
Black Oxford Heels - Take 5

I love long socks. I'm pretty sure I'm borderline addict. They're popular in Japan, they're cute, and they're cheap. Well, let me rephrase, some of them are cheap. Most of the socks I own come from Tutuanna, a store devoted to socks, hosiery, and underwear. While I *have* spent over $10 for one pair of long socks there (totally worth it!), most of them I get with their three-pair for 1050yen deal. That's not bad at all, considering when I look online, most stores seem to be charging $18 for one pair of long socks in the US. Insanity! I guess because they're not as popular? Anyways, I've stocked up an extensive amount of socks, stockings, and hosiery while here. When I say I have a sock drawer, I mean a drawer with only socks....that is just as big as my drawer for jeans. *^-^* Oops! The way I see it, I could have way worse addictions besides legwear!

Chasing Trains

Striped Top - Thrifted
White Skirt - Forever 21
Shoes - Paseos
Hair bow - Forever 21
Earrings - Guilty

Yet another outfit from this summer. I figure I need to get them in before it's winter and completely out of place! I really like this top. However, I think the gold buttons might be a little too flashy and I'm thinking about switching them out with white ones. But then I'm afraid if I do that, then the top will look a little plain. Quite the pickle. I guess I'll just have to try it and see! I'll report back on the button change, maybe even with some pictures. That is, if it looks better!

Tokyo Tuesday!

Today's post is not an outfit of the day. I had errands to run today and wasn't feeling the best, so I did what everyone does on those days. Rocked a Batman t-shirt, jeans, chucks, and a ponytail. So, it's Tokyo Tuesday today! :] Which means, it's going to be a post about things I bought in Tokyo this past weekend.

First things first. Heads or Tails?

If you guessed're right!

Disclaimer: It's *not* real. I promise. I love animals, I could never do that. Besides, I want a fox as a pet, not as a fashion accessory. ^-^

These tails are pretty popular in Japan. Girls will hang them off of their purses/bags or my favorite, they'll clip them to their back belt loop so it looks like they have a tail! Haha. A little different, but definitely cute. I knew I couldn't leave Japan without buying one. It's a memory and accessory I just need to have. So I bought this one in Harajuku this past weekend on what will be one of my last Tokyo shopping trips for awhile. I originally wanted a wolf one, but they looked bad and really fake. So I picked up this fox one instead. How many looks do you think I can get from having a *tail* in the US?

I also purchased this awesome orange wig:

It can be used for photoshoots, cosplay, many things.

I also got another Lolita outfit from Bodyline while I was in Harajuku. Pictures of that to come later! But that is my second one from there and my third Lolita outfit. I also have a *really* nice custom one that was gifted to me. There will be pictures in the future of that one as well.

Like I mentioned in the kick off, it's a blog with mostly fashion overtones, but will also have undertones of other things I love. So, here's to the first undertone! Cheers!

Prim & Proper

White Blouse - Pink Mix
Blue and White Bow Skirt - Pink Mix
Ruffle Socks - Yoshida
Tan Kitten Heels - Paseos

These photos were actually taken during the summer this year. I just received these and a few others though, so I figured I would sneak them in with the fall posts. This outfit is so cute and it's very common to see outfits like this in Japan during the summer. However, it's *not* very common to see foreign girls dress in outfits like these. I get stared at for wearing this style of clothing....a lot. But I've also had Japanese people tell me that I look very cute or it's good that I dress in Japanese style clothing! I'm excited to see how the US reacts to my Japanese style!

Make Me Bad

Grey Motorcycle Vest - Thrifted
Black Long Sleeve Shirt - Durer
Destroyed Cutoff Shorts - Durer
Striped Stockings - Tutuanna
Black Short Boots - Paseos
Black Patent Leather Bag - Pattern

I like changing up my look, a lot. I tend to wear outfits like this on days that I'm feeling sassy or as I like to call them, my "saucy little minx" days. Usually the bold red lips and dark eyeliner come out to play on such days. I love these striped stockings. I actually have them in a thigh high height as well. They just add a little extra edge to sassy days. And I've been loving these short quilted boots lately. Speaking of boots, I need a new pair for fall.....

Office Party

White Dress Shirt - UNIQLO
Black Sweater Vest - Paseos
Black Shorts - Forever 21
Black Socks - Tutuanna
Scarf - Over the Hill
Black Bow Headband - Forever 21
Black Short Boots - Paseos

I think this is such a fun play on business attire. I can and do wear some of the top pieces to work. Bottom pieces, not so much. But it's a great outfit for going out on the town with friends. And even better, I can wear the top pieces to work and pack the bottom pieces if I'm planning on meeting someone after the workday is finished. I would only have to do a quick change of bottoms and ta-da! Ready to hit the town in a cute outfit without anyone ever knowing that half of my outfit was worn all day. I love easy day to night looks!

Parlez-vous fran├žais?

Striped Shirt - More's City
White Skirt- Paseos
Grey Cardigan - Thrifted
White Crocheted Socks- Tutuanna
Brown Short Boots - Paseos
White Beret - Hollywood Vintage

It seems like a lot of clothes are french inspired right now in Japan. It's not a surprise, the French know what they're doing fashion-wise and Japan is a very fashionable place. You wouldn't believe how much of my clothes have a french feel to them. Probably a good 1/4 of my wardrobe. And don't feel bad if the answer to my title is no for you. I know very minimal French, since I only took it for one summer when I was 8 years old. Also, I have no idea why my hair turned out a different color in every picture in this series. I guess it was fickle in deciding what color it wanted to be. But it still is red, not dark brown or light brown.

Take Me Out

White Sweater - Liz Lisa
Pink Tank - Forever 21
Polka Dot Skirt - Paseos
White Ribbon Socks - Cecilia de Rafael
Black Heels - Steve Madden
Hair Bow - Guilty
Rhinestone Heart Earrings - Paris Kids

I would never have thought I would wear anything close to this if you were to ask me 2 years ago. I probably would have laughed and maybe even said something along the lines of it's *too* girly. I was a tomboy. "One of the guys". No, seriously. I know it's probably a little hard to believe. When I moved to Japan and saw how cute and pretty the Japanese girls are all the time, it started rubbing off on me I guess. I started wanting to look cute. And from there...well, the rest is history. I love these socks, they're the only pair of fancy designer socks I own. I had to splurge, I knew if I didn't, I would never find them again. I still love chucks, t-shirts, and jeans too. I don't think I'll ever grow out of that! But when I say I've just recently been introduced to the vast world of fashion, it's no joke. And I think Tokyo was a great place to learn!
